Suresh Balakrishna joins The Hindu Group as Chief Revenue Officer

Senior media professional Suresh Balakrishna has joined The Hindu group as Chief Revenue Officer. He has joined the Chennai-based group today (Oct 31).

In July this year, Balakrishna had announced his moving on as CEO South Asia and the Middle East of Kinetic Worldwide, the out-of-home agency of the WPP group. Earlier, he worked with BPN, Initiative, and Rapport at the IPG Mediabrands group and a slew of media groups including DNA, India Today, Hindustan Times, Zee Entertainment and The Times of India group.

Prior to joining The Hindu Group, he was Chief Executive Officer, South Asia, and the Middle East, Kinetic Advertising India Private Limited, part of the WPP Group.  In his 31 years of professional journey, he has deep experience and expertise in all forms of media (print, television, outdoor) as well as the agency side of the business.

He started his career in January 1987, when he joined as a trainee advertisement executive selling ad space for Saturday Times, and has worked as Sales Manager in Apex Publishing (Yellow Pages), General Manager – Marketing with Hinduja Group,  Executive Vice President of Lintas, Vice President – Media Marketing of HT,  Executive Vice President, and Head of Marketing of Zee Network, and was CEO of BPN,  CEO of Rapport, India  (the OOH arm of Media brands) and Chief Operating Officer at Mail Today (The India Today Group).
